Experience a taste of Naples in your neighbourhood at Piatto Pizzeria! Enjoy traditional wood-fired Neapolitan pizza served alongside handcrafted dishes, including pasta, cocktails, and wine. In our world, authenticity is big — our pizzaioli use ingredients and procedures regulated by the Italian governing association (VPN), so you experience a "true" pizza like you would find in the energetic pizzerias in Naples, Italy (but without the airfare).

  • It all began in St. John’s, Newfoundland. We opened our doors with a simple mission — to serve authentic Neapolitan pizza with heart, soul, and plenty of wood-fired heat.

  • In August 2011 we became certified by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (VPN) — the second restaurant in Canada to receive this prestigious award.

  • From one family to many. We expanded beyond St. John’s in June 2012, spreading our pizza passion across Atlantic Canada.

  • Lights, camera… pizza! We made our national TV debut on Food Network Canada’s ‘You Gotta Eat Here’ surrounded by friends and family in October.

  • Growing at home. After searching for 5 long years we found the perfect spot for our second St. John’s location on Elizabeth Avenue.  Piatto Midtown!

  • In March 2018, we launched a major menu expansion with something for everyone, featuring house-made pasta, gluten-free options, burgers, offering a taste of Italy beyond pizza.

  • When the world changed, so did we. We rolled out a full line of take-home and wholesale items—from pizza kits and dough balls to our now-famous vac-packs. Including a new business and production facility called piatto @ home.

  • Summer never tasted so good. Our Duckworth on-street patio opened — hello, sunshine and slices!

  • We hit the road. With portable ovens and full-service catering, we brought the pizzeria to weddings, concerts, events, and parties across the Avalon.
